Wholesome Hygienist is the nutritional practice of Analee Nichols, a Registered Dental Hygienist and licensed Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP). Soon after getting licensed as an NTP, she decided it was time to take her site to the next level.

Prior to finishing schooling for the license, she created a generic WordPress.com site that was absent of structure or identity. Part of my design challenge was to take a logo, a basic branding document, a partially created site, and turn that into an enjoyable experience that contextually and visually told visitors who Wholesome Hygienist is and what it does.

the project

I started by reviewing the basic brand document, some external sites Analee liked, and photos from her shoot to get the feel of who Wholesome Hygienist wanted to be. From there I began to develop the brand guidelines and design strategy for the new site

The design direction and themes I chose for the nutritional practice were fun, minimal, clean, and down to earth. I created a color scheme that supported theses themes and wove them through the site consistently. I found web fonts that complimented the logo fonts, and added the logo cursive font to the hand drawn graphics and photos on the site. These foundational choices brought a more cohesive design and brand identity for Wholesome Hygienist, while also creating that fun and down to earth feel.

Lastly, I created specialized infographics that were incorporated into the site and other marketing projects. These infographics were visually helpful in telling the story of how dentistry and nutrition come together and serve as a useful branding tool.

This project with Wholesome Hygienist was so successful that I received another NTP referral, and I designed their site as well! Check out Ancestralwellnessguru.com
