KinderTouch
website / brochure

the client
KinderTouch is a simple app designed to help schools and parents connect with sharing things news, alerts, photos, etc. Each customer has a customized version of the app with their branding and special needs.
The app was being managed by three computer engineers who need a designer to bring the project to life and help draw more customers. The design challenge was to take what they had built and develop the brand story/identity with a look and feel that accurately shared what the product was and how it helped bring schools and parents together.
the project
Going into the project I had a logo and one brand color to work from, as well as a prior site that had a rather lifeless design. It was absent of color and did not communicate excitement about children or an application that brought people together.
I started the project by choosing the themes of clean, fun, playfulness, togetherness, and professionalism. I found header and paragraph fonts, as well as bright and light colors that complimented the logo and mission, while visually expressing the themes. I gathered stock photos that felt personal, child-centered, colorful, and showed how the product was used.

I created a strategy that incorporated the content from the old site and laid it out in a visual hierarchy of important information that flowed like a story, compelling readers to take it all in. I used font types, font sizes, color, and illustrative images/graphics to break the one page site into digestible sections that lead to a CTA to build a custom app. I focused on bringing lots of white space into the site so it felt light and clean, and allowed readers to focus easily on the images and information.
Once the website was complete (unfortunately, it is no longer active), I took the themes, theme elements, and content structure and reformatted them into a brochure that was very visual and experiential - compelling readers to want to learn more. View the complete brochure
